MONZON

Elastic coating for the protection and waterproofing of terraces and roofs. Also suitable for polyurethane foam and vertical surfaces. When applied to form a thick layer, it creates a crack-resistant barrier that does not allow passage of rain or moisture and can withstand moderate foot traffic.

- Remove any dirt, moss, mildew, etc. and wash the surface with clean, uncontaminated water.
- Shake the product until evenly mixed.
- Lightly dilute the product depending on the porousness and condition of the surface after the first coat.
- Do not apply the product outside the temperatures range 5-35ºC or when rain is expected.  The temperature of the substrate must be above 5°C to avoid freezing.

On horizontal surfaces.
Cement mortars:
- Apply a coat of fixative diluted so that it penetrates the cement mortar to consolidate the substrate, create a good bonding bridge and avoid alkaline substances reacting with the waterproofing. We strongly recommended application of a subsequent coat of very diluted rough coating to improves adhesion and allow ready incorporation of fibreglass mesh, if used. At least 24 hours must be allowed between coats of waterproofing.
- We recommend application in total of 1.5 l/m2 or more in several coats.
- We strongly recommend placing a woven square fibreglass mesh of approximately 55 gr/m2 to improve wear. The mesh should be incorporated in an intermediate coat and not directly on the substrate so as to increase mechanical resistance.

Brick, brickboard:
- We strongly recommend application to a clean surface following an initial coat of very diluted rough coating to improve adhesion and allows ready incorporation of fibreglass mesh, if used.

Asphalt covering:
- Prime the clean surface with Epoxy Floor Primer.

On façades.
- After priming, apply a thinned first coat and finish with the number of coats required for the desired thickness. For good performance we recommend a thick covering of at least 0.6 l/m2 built up in several coats.
New Surfaces
Cement mortars:
1. Wait until fully set (at least 30 days).
2. Clean the surface of any foreign substances, residues and poorly adhered product.
3. Use abrasive blasting to prevent efflorescence and neutralise alkaline surfaces. On very smooth surfaces, key lightly with sandpaper. Fill any imperfections with a fibroelastic putty.
4. Treat surfaces affected by mould with fungicide.
5. The substrate must be completely dry before application. Use a hygrometer to check that the humidity is below 20%.
6. Apply a first coast of fixative to avoid direct contact with cement mortar.
7. We recommend a first coat of primer for waterproofing treatments.
8. Apply the product - we recommend incorporation of a grid fibreglass mesh.

Catalan tile or matt porous brick:
1. As for cement mortars - fixative is not required.

Polyurethane foam and asphalt fabric:
1. Check adhesion and if necessary apply a first coast of a water-based epoxy primer (Imprimación Epoxi Suelos) to improve adhesion.
2. As for cement mortars.
